Holy High

A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

Love what God loves, and hate what God hates . . .

That’s how we define “holiness” in our high school ministry.  Yes, of course, there are more sophisticated descriptions, but they all boil down to the same thing.  Whoever agrees with the God the most is the most holy.  So in what areas of life do you disagree with God?

For teenagers, that answer is not always easy.  We all know where God stands on the obvious – sex, drugs, cursing your mom out – thumbs down on that stuff.  But the average teenage dilemma is much deeper.   For instance, we should always obey God and we should always obey our parents, but what happens when our parents disagree with God?  Or maybe, you have a friend who’s in a gang and everybody tells you he’s a bad influence and you should cut the relationship.  You know they’re right, but what about your influence on him?  Does that even matter?  See, inside of a culture that proudly disagrees with God, those questions can be difficult.  To a teen that struggles with their faith, they can seem impossible.

The good news is that all of those answers are safely tucked away inside the word of God.  The bad news is that it’s difficult to get teens to navigate through the funny language to dig them out. Holy High is committed to unlocking God’s potential in each teenager by reversing this trend.  Using the five purposes, we look to discover the value of God’s word by presenting it in light of relevant teenage issues.  Our mission is simply to REACH non-believing students, CONNECT them into God’s family, GROW them in their faith, help them DISCOVER their unique gifts and abilities, so they can HONOR God with their lives. We offer creative programming that touches the heart of teenage life, and builds relationships to help them walk through the difficult years of adolescence.
